The room wasn't very clean. The staff was friendly and available. Sheets had permanent stains on them. For the price i was disappointed. I saw no real difference between this and a cheap motel. WiFi was easy to use. Phone in bathroom, didn't use it. Bathroom had hairs in it and stains on floor. Do not disturb sign would not stay on door handle and was crumpled. I did like the floor level access to my room and I could park right outside my door.
I needed a hotel for a quick trip, but was worried about staying in a cheaper one. Quality Inn Whitehouse was clean and wonderful. Nice beds... comfortable. Everything I needed.
Stayed here with my husband and two kids(5 and 2). The hotel was full so we were only able to get a king bed ( we prefer two queens, but we knew we were lucky to snag a room). Wasn't sure what to expect since Quality Inns can vary. This place is acceptable. Clean, room didn't smell like mildew. Outdoor pool was maintained. The only issues I had were that the bed was as hard as a brick, my guess is the carpet had more padding than the bed. And for a king size bed, they only provided 4 half size pillows( think the size was like decorative throw pillows) and they were the flattest things I have ever encountered. But knowing that, I would come here again...and bring some pillows and a mattress topper.
Overall, very good location. The internet seems especially solid, better than 10 megabits speed. Rooms are perfectly acceptable, the external entry for the rooms is not great, but for business travel it's not a big deal. This is not a vacation type Place nor is it especially fancy. That said, everything is well kept up and clean. I got a room with two queen size beds. Unfortunately that means no desk. Something to keep in mind for business travel.
This is a Quality property, not the Ritz Carlton, so I'm judging it based on what it is. As this chain goes, this is one of the better representatives. It's clean, well-appointed, and the management does seem to care about the business.
The only reason I give this review four stars is so that people don't go in expecting a brand new, fresh and modern hotel. It's not. The bloom is off the rose, but if I were price-conscious and in the area, I'd stay here again. To be perfectly frank, though, there's a Holiday Inn Express directly behind this property that I'd rather book.
Pros: nice outdoor swimming pool, relatively toddler-safe furniture (rounded corners, high door latch, etc.)
I stayed here in order to photograph the total eclipse of the sun, and this motel was directly in the path of totality. That was my only consideration when I booked, so the opportunistic price was expected.
Cons: mattress as hard as a rock, pillows curiously cheap and small
I would note that this is a classic style "motel", with doors that open directly to the world (no hallways). I would also note that, while the property is aging, like most Quality properties, this one is well maintained and feels modern compared to the typical Quality. It is not on par with a Holiday Inn Express, for comparison, but I would expect that the price is accordingly cheaper, too.
